ROADS
Major projects (Included in NDP- Funded by TII)
N24 Waterford to Cahir Scheme
With funding now secured to progress the Scheme to a Preferred Option, the public information\
consultation on the options report will begin in Mooncoin Hall on the 3rd May.
N25 Glenmore (New Ross bypass) to Waterford Scheme
With no funding allocation for 2022, detailed design works will not progress in 2022 on this
scheme.
Minor Projects (Not included in NDP-Funded by TII)
N24 Tower Road (Safety Scheme)
Approval to proceed to tender has been requested from TII. It is expected following approval to
proceed that the scheme will go out to tender in Q2 2022 with a view to construction commencing
during Q3 2022. An allocation of €3m was received for 2022 to allow the scheme to proceed to
construction. The overall outturn cost for the project is expected to be circa €10m.
N77 Ballyragget to Ballynaslee
Statutory approvals have been secured for this scheme. An allocation of €500K was received for
2022 which will fund progression to preparation of contract documents and potentially provide for
some land acquisition. The overall outturn cost for the project is expected to be circa €10m.
N24 Carrick Road:
An allocation of €150K was received for 2022 which will fund progression to statutory approvals
stage (177AE Planning Approval and Compulsory Purchase Order Approval. This will be
submitted to An Bord Pleanála in May 2022. The overall outturn cost for the project is expected to
be circa €10m.
Other Projects
Kilkenny Ring Road Extension
Roadplan consulting are continuing to work on the SAR report (Strategic Assessment Report)
for this project. This report will be ready in Q2 2022 for submission to the Department for
consideration to proceed with the design and planning.
